With over 27 years as an educator, Jahari spent years holding space for others, teaching, leading, and caring, until one powerful mirror moment

At her first belly dance class, everything shifted. Standing face-to-face with her reflection, tears fell, awakening a deeper calling to help women reconnect with themselves.

Coach F.L.Y. uses mirror techniques, movement, journaling, and guided strategies to support women in reconnecting with the woman they see in the mirror.

Her message is simple :

Why This Work Is Personal

This work is personal because I was my first client. Before there was a F.L.Y. Institute, before programs or sisterhood, there was a woman walking into her first belly dance class, unsure, guarded, and disconnected from her reflection.

 

I stood in front of the mirror—and as I looked into my own eyes, tears began to fall. In that moment, something awakened. I saw the woman I had been, the woman I had survived as, and the woman I was becoming. Movement softened my body, but the mirror softened my heart. I felt renewal begin — and with it, clarity. That mirror moment marked the start of my transformation. It was also when my purpose became clear.

 

Through movement, reflection, and self-love, I began reclaiming myself. F.L.Y.—First Love Yourself was born from that experience. I became the first student of my own work, and this Institute exists so that other women don’t have to find themselves alone in the mirror. This isn’t theory. It’s a lived truth.
